Global Health Symposium

About the Showcase

The purpose of the Global Health Showcase is to engage the VCU community in discussions about current international outreach focused on improving health outcomes around the globe.

To fulfill its purpose, the Showcase seeks to accomplish the objectives of

  • informing members of the university community about active global health projects
  • providing networking opportunities to enhance communication and encourage connections among individuals and groups active and interested in global health projects, and
  • establishing a framework to further support of, and participation in, international health projects at VCU.

Global Health Symposium

This showcase is part of the second annual VCU Global Health Forum. The forum is comprised of three events taking place throughout the 2013-14 academic year, each highlighting a distinct aspect of global health. The final event in the series, the International Health Research Workshop, is scheduled for May 2014. The showcase is coordinated by the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences, Global Education Office, School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, and Office of Research.
