Virginia Commonwealth University’s International Partnership with the University of KwaZulu-Natal began in 1995 when VCU and other U.S. and South African academic institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the South African Health Care Initiative. Another MOU was signed in November 2006 between VCU and UKZN, officially establishing the partnership and opening the doorway to future collaborations.
