Virtual Global Classroom

This Virtual Global Classroom Award is offered in partnership with the VCU Center for Teaching Excellence and supports a department or school that develops a structured and sustainable application of technology in a course or courses that connect VCU students with counterparts in other countries as part of their learning. While no fixed number of the awards has been set, we anticipate awarding three grants of approximately $15,000 each. The final number and amount of awards will depend on the merits of each proposal as determined by reviewers.

Departmental Study Abroad Program Award

The Departmental Study Abroad Program Award is intended to support departments or schools that seek signifiant increases in study abroad participation through new programming integrated into departmental curricula in ways that promote academic and financial sustainability. Priority will be given to units not yet offering established opportunities or their majors. Successful programming will articulate with the academic program so that students can participate without increasing the amount of time necessary to graduate.  While no fixed number of the awards has been set, we anticipate awarding four grants of approximately $20,000 each.  The final number and amount of awards will depend on the merits of each proposal as determined by reviewers.
