ELP Alumni Profiles

I think the ELP program is a great transition before you begin as a college student in the U.S. Especially for those students who don’t speak English or are from a different country. I’ve met a lot of students who passed language tests like the IELTS and the TOEFL, but they still feel stressed about the language or can't understand their professors in their college classes.
The ELP professors care about their students and try to help them out. I feel grateful to the ELP program and my ELP professors. They helped me to adjust to college life very quickly and easily. Now I have a bunch of American friends, I’m liked by my professors and I have a job at the VCU Student Media Center. I am also the president of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association(CSSA). Besides this, I am also the illustration editor of The CT (The Commonwealth Times, the VCU school newspaper).
It’s essential to have a good communication with my coworkers and staff. These leadership positions make me more confident, patient, and more responsible.
I really appreciate those who gave me this chance to make myself better and help more people; the experience at the ELP was definitely the beginning of all of this.
ELP语言项目是你正式踏入美国大学学习生涯前的一个重要的过渡阶段。
