Richmond, VA (April 18, 2022) — VCU Globe celebrated its seventh and final graduation ceremony on Friday, March 25. The graduating class of 97 students received certificates for completing the program's requirements which included courses beyond their academic study, service hours and cultural immersion. Of the graduating students, 43 earned the Peace Corps Prep certificate, signifying they are prepared to apply to the Peace Corps.
While 2022 marks the sunset of VCU Globe, the program boasts many impressive statistics since it launched in 2013, according to Christina Marino, interim director, who served as emcee for the event. In addition to receiving two nationally recognized awards:

- Students have received more than 50 nationally competitive scholarships
- Students have completed over 34,706 averaging over 55 hours per graduate
- This year, Globe students won VCU's only Rangel award and two out of three Pickering Fellowships
- 60% of VCU's Fulbright recipients in 2017 were Globe students, despite representing less <1% of the student body
Dr. Jill Blondin served as keynote speaker for the event, and graduates Sarah Harris and Gabriel Molina were selected as student speakers.
