Supporting our Iranian/Persian communities
Dear students and scholars,
In light of the tragic death of Iranian Mahsa Amini, VCU’s Global Education Office and the Division of Student Affairs are reaching out to our students and scholars with personal, geographic or cultural ties to the region.
We want to express our concern for you and this recent event, and to let you know that our office empathizes and supports you at this time.
If you would like to show your support and meet with others who may be affected by this event, a student-sponsored evening of remembrance for Mahsa will be held on September 23, at 6 p.m., in Monroe Park.
In addition, on Wednesday, October 5, at 7 p.m., in Monroe Park, the Persian Club at VCU is hosting a candlelight vigil for the 500+ lives lost in protests in Iran.
