What is VCU Globe?

A flexible, self-paced, co-curricular global learning leadership program that helps connect students with diverse cultures, increases cultural agility, builds a global mindset and leadership skills, and boosts resumés and career readiness – regardless of the pursued major. Participants earn points by attending and/or participating in global learning experiences, and upon earning points, they will earn digital badges in alignment with their achievements.

  • No campus residential requirement

To complete VCU Globe, students must:

  1. Engage in major global experiences (e.g., study abroad, virtual exchange, global service, intercultural training, global-focused internships, retreats, and more)
  2. Learn from globally-focused academic opportunities (e.g., enrolling in UNIV 191, foreign language courses, completing the Student Global Zone Badge, and more)
  3. Participate in interpersonal cultural experiences (options include: Global Cafes, career prep workshops, the Globe Speaker Series, Student Global Zone training, peer leadership, and more)
