English and Culture Plus
Home to one of the largest intensive English programs on the east coast, Virginia Commonwealth University has offered a wide range of options to help students improve their English. The VCU English & Culture Plus program has offered three weeks of intensive English training combined with a unique cultural experience.
Located in Virginia’s capital city of Richmond, VCU sits in the heart of a thriving region. The program has offered cultural immersion opportunities including visits to the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Example Program Offerings:
- 66 classroom hours in reading, writing, listening and speaking
- On-campus accommodations in new, fully-furnished apartments that include 24-hour security, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning
- Full access to the state-of-the-art Cary Street Gym, newly-renovated Cabell Library and university sporting events
- Transportation and excursions to cultural and historical sites
- Cultural events
